USAGE:
Dfsutil /State command changes the state of the DFS root, link, root target or link target to either online or offline or it displays the state of the root or link or link target or root target.

Usage:
dfsutil /Path: [/Server: /Share:] /State /Enable|Disable|Display [/Verbose]

    /Path: - UNC path of DFS root or link affected.
    /Server: - Name of the root or link target server.
    /Share: - Target share name.
    /Display - Displays the state of the specified root or link.
    /Enable - Change the state of the given link or root to ONLINE.
    /Disable - Change the state of the given link or root to OFFLINE.
    /Verbose - Show additional information while the tool is executing.    


e.g. dfsutil /Path:\\DocDomain\DocRoot /State /Display

     dfsutil /Path:\\DocDomain\DocRoot\DfsDocs /Server:MyDocServ1 /Share:DfsDocs /State /Display

Notes:
1. In case of the Windows Server 2003 onwards, the state of the DFS namespace root or root target can not be changed to online or offline. But the state of the link and the link targets can be changed.

2. In Windows 2000 Server the state of the DFS namespace root and root target can be changed to offline or online.
