USAGE: Dfsutil /TargetFailback is an expert-only option to make sure clients failback to target servers that are closer to them after having failed over to a target that's potentially out of site. Usage: dfsutil /TargetFailback /Path:/Enable|Disable|Display [/Verbose] /Path: - Path of DFS root or link affected. /Display - See if target-failback feature is enabled currently or not. /Enable - Enable target-failback on the given link or root. /Disable - (Default behavior) Stop sending target-failback information from the DFS server to the clients. /Verbose - Show additional information while the tool is executing. Notes: 1) One of Enable, Disable, Display must be specified. 2) The path specified may be a root or a link. 3) This feature is only supported on Windows Server 2003 SP1 and higher. 4) Client computers must use Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. For more information, open Help from the DFS Management snap-in. 5) You may also enable or disable TargetFailback on SYSVOL/NETLOGON paths. That, however, is a DC specific property that must be set in the registry of relevant DC(s): HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\ Services\Dfs\Parameters\SysvolNetlogonTargetFailback: DWORD 1 or 0
