Type the mask for the receipt number. For mask characters that do not represent date information, each occurrence of the character represents a character in the data that you are including in the receipt number. Therefore, you must repeat the mask character as many times as the length of the data requires. Use the following mask characters: # (the receipt number), S (the store number), T (the terminal number), C (the staff ID number), ddd (the day of the year, from 1 through 366), MM (the two-digit month), DD (the two-digit day of the month, and YY (the two-digit year). Characters other than the characters in the previous list appear as themselves in the receipt number. If you intend to scan bar codes for receipts, do not use special characters in the mask. For example, the format for the receipt number is PSSSSTTTT######. Therefore, a receipt for terminal 11 in store 4 might have the number P00040011001234.
