Normally, remote instances of SQL Server are managed by an information technology (IT) administrator in your organization. This IT administrator controls whether or not to run Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (or later) Analysis Services and can give you access to connect to a remote Analysis Services database. Before you can run the data mining add-ins, this IT person in your organization must run a special Server Configuration Utility on the remote Analysis Services database that you will connect to.
We encourage you to email your IT administrator now. This wizard will compose an e-mail on your behalf to your IT administrator explaining that you have downloaded the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Data Mining Add-ins for Office, and that some configuration of the remote SQL Server Analysis Services instance is required.
