What Is It?
The Classify Data Wizard helps you build a classification model based on existing data from an Excel table, an Excel range, or an external data source. A classification model extracts patterns that predict the value of one column, based on the values in other columns.
What Does It Do?
The wizard enables you to choose the target column and any desired input columns.
Notes
To use the Classify Data Wizard, you must be connected to a SQL Server Analysis Services database. The model created by this wizard can be saved, or exist only while you are working with the data. However, to create a temporary model, the server must be configured to allow temporary mining models. Contact your server administrator to make sure the server configuration allows temporary mining models. The wizard also helps you specify whether the model preserves the training data and associates it with the patterns (enable drillthrough).
