In addition to basic information, Microsoft Active Protection Service will send information to Microsoft about the location of the software, the file names, how the software operates, and how the software has affected the computer. In some instances, personal information might unintentionally be sent to Microsoft. However, Microsoft will not use this information to identify the user or to contact them.
