Remote Access integrates DirectAccess, VPN, and Web Application Proxy in a single console. DirectAccess provides connectivity to internal resources for DirectAccess clients located on the Internet. Administrators can remotely manage these clients. VPN configures the Remote Access server to accept VPN connections from remote clients and site-to-site VPN connections. Web Application Proxy enables the publishing of selected HTTP- and HTTPS-based applications from your corporate network to client devices outside of the corporate network. It can use AD FS to ensure that users are authenticated before they gain access to published applications. Web Application Proxy also provides proxy functionality for your AD FS servers.
