The Easy Transfer Cable is a specially designed USB cable that connects two PCs and works with Windows Easy Transfer to transfer information between the PCs. It's one of the easiest ways to transfer files and settings to your new PC and works with Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. You should always start Windows Easy Transfer on your new PC and plug in the cable only when the on-screen instructions tell you to do so. If you're running Windows XP or Windows Vista, be sure to insert the CD that came with it to install the Windows Easy Transfer software and continue the transfer process, before you plug in the cable to your old PC. If you're running Windows 7 or Windows 8, Windows Easy Transfer is already installed.
