Forward thinking companies regularly perform an analysis of the skills required to complete the work expected to be performed in the future, and the skills their internal resources already possess.  Once a gap analysis is performed on needed skills and available skills, the company can make decisions on training and/or future hiring requirements and fix these activities on a timeline.  This template provides a framework for the general activities, from a Human Resources departmental perspective, that are undertaken to perform an analysis of forecasted skills needs and the potential hiring and/or training plans needed to address the gap.
