You can use Server Manager to manage remote computers that are running Windows Server 2008 R2. To specify a computer to manage, right-click the Server Manager node in the tree pane, and then click Connect to Another Computer. You must be a member of the Administrators group on any computer you want to manage by using Server Manager. Make sure that the snap-ins or tools that are associated with any role or feature that you want to manage on the remote computer are installed on this computer. Open Turn Windows features on or off in Control Panel to verify that the snap-ins and tools you need have been installed on this computer as part of Remote Server Administration Tools. Refer to "Remote Management with Server Manager" in the Server Manager Help for more information about managing computers remotely.
