You can use Network Policy Server (NPS) to perform centralized authentication and authorization of connection requests from remote users and computers that attempt to connect to your network through dial-up servers and virtual private network (VPN) servers. When you have one or more Routing and Remote Access servers configured as a dial-up or VPN server, you can configure the server as a RADIUS client in NPS, allowing you to centralize connection request processing and network policy administration. You can also use NPS with other VPN and dial-up servers that support the RADIUS protocol.
