The model store is a Microsoft SQL Server database where all Microsoft Dynamics AX application elements are stored, including customizations. The Application Object Server (AOS) connects to the model store and uses model data to render forms and reports and to run X++ code. Prerequisites You must be logged on with an account that is a member of the Database Creators server role on the SQL Server instance. If you are running Setup on a computer other than the SQL server, the SQL server must allow remote connections, the named pipes protocol must be enabled, and port 1433 must be open. The sort order for the SQL server must be case-insensitive, accent-sensitive, kana-sensitive, and width-insensitive.
