Description: Used to configure a WDS Server for initial use following the installation of the WDS component on the server. This action should only need to be performed once on a server. Following this command, you should use WDSUTIL with the Add command to add images to the server. WARNING: If the server is configured for Legacy mode and WDS services are running, they will be restarted by this command. Syntax: WDSUTIL [Options] /Initialize-Server [/Server:] /RemInst: [/Authorize] [/Server:] The name of the WDS Server. This can be either the NetBIOS name or the FQDN. If not specified, the local server will be used. /RemInst The full path and name of the folder to be shared as "REMINST". If the folder specified does not yet exist, it will be created. The path should always be entered in local form, even when managing a remote machine. For example, "D:
emoteInstall" [/Authorize] Authorizes the server in DHCP. This step is only necessary if DHCP rogue detection is enabled (it is disabled by default), meaning the WDS PXE server must be authorized in DHCP in order to service clients. EXAMPLES: --------- WDSUTIL /Initialize-Server /REMINST:"F:
emoteInstall" WDSUTIL /Verbose /Progress /Initialize-Server /Server:MyWDSServer /REMINST:"C:
emoteInstall"
